MCSE Exam Information To achieve the MCSE, a candidate must pass a total of seven exams. There are five core exams and two elective exams. There are also some previously retired exams that still count towards the Windows 2000 MCSE. Each of the 7 exams will cost you $125 to take, which makes this certification a costly yet worthwhile certification to achieve.
